Welcome to Our Community

Dear Families,

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Sulam and the work we do. Choosing the right educational environment for your child is one of the most important decisions a family makes, and we are honored to be part of that journey.

At Sulam, inclusion is more than a philosophy—it is the foundation of our work. We believe that neurodiverse students should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and belong within their Jewish day school community. We take the time to truly know our students—to understand how they learn, recognize their strengths, and provide the individualized support they need to succeed.

And success means more than academics. We want our students to develop confidence and independence, build meaningful friendships, advocate for themselves, and experience what it means to be a valued and contributing member of their school and Jewish community.

Pirkei Avot teaches us:

לֹא עָלֶיךָ הַמְּלָאכָה לִגְמֹר, וְלֹא אַתָּה בֶן חוֹרִין לִבָּטֵל מִמֶּנָּה

“It is not your responsibility to finish the work, but neither are you free to walk away from it.”

For me, these words speak directly to the work of inclusion. We may not be able to remove every barrier or meet every need, but we have a responsibility to do what we can—to keep opening doors, creating opportunities, and building Jewish communities where more children can learn, contribute, and belong.

We invite you to explore our programs, meet our dedicated team, and learn more about the community we have built at Sulam. Most importantly, we hope you will discover what is possible when a student is given the right support and the opportunity to truly belong.

We look forward to getting to know you and your family and, together, continuing this important work.

Warmly,

Lianne Heller
Head of School and Executive Director
