Sulam at Berman
“Sulam provides a buffer for my son in the areas where he struggles, while giving him the space to build on his strengths and really thrive.”

Supporting Students. Strengthening Community.
We believe neurodiverse students should have the opportunity to learn in an environment where they feel known, understood, and capable of success.
Through our partnership with Berman Hebrew Academy, the flagship Modern Orthodox Jewish day school in Rockville, Maryland, Sulam provides individualized special education support to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, which enables neurodiverse students to learn alongside their peers and participate meaningfully in the academic, social, and Jewish life of the school.
No two students are alike. Some struggle with executive functioning or academic growth. Others experience anxiety, social challenges, or difficulty managing the increasing demands of school.
Our approach begins with a simple question: What does this student need to thrive?
That question guides everything we do. Support is individualized, collaborative, and integrated into the school day. Our educators take the time to understand how students learn, recognize their strengths, address areas of challenge, and help them develop the skills and confidence they need for greater independence and long-term success.
The result is something bigger than academic support. Students have the opportunity to learn alongside their peers, build friendships, participate in Jewish life, and experience the critical sense of belonging that comes from being a valued member of their school community.
Because when students are known, understood, and given the right support, remarkable things can happen.
