Steve Schram

  • With over 40 years in private law practice, Steve Schram is uniquely qualified as a "go-to" business, real estate and transactional attorney for entrepreneurs and small- to middle-market businesses. As Managing Principal and Co-President of Shapiro, Lifschitz & Schram, and current Partner at Barclay Damon, Steve’s broad range of experience in finance and accounting sets him apart from other attorneys in his field. Steve gained real-world experience in these arenas as an audit staff member with Ernst & Young, and during a four-year engagement as COO, CFO and general counsel to Washington, DC's largest furniture retailer.

Throughout Steve’s personal endeavors, he has always remained a partner and advocate in creating safe and equitable spaces. Steve was awarded the prestigious Achievement Award by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in 2013, after serving for 20 years on its Board, including 6 years as its Regional Board Chair. The award recognizes leaders who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the ideals of the Anti-Defamation League—justice, pluralism, and understanding. In addition to his affiliation with the ADL, Steve was a longstanding member of Sulam’s Board, serving as Treasurer until 2023.

He and his wife Marie, together with their children Lauren, Anthony and grandson Max, and Brian, Theresa, and granddaughter Tilly, enjoy spending time together both locally and while traveling.
