History
Sulam, Inc. was established in 1998 by a group of parents and community
leaders to provide for the exceptional needs of students within a Jewish
day school setting. Sulam began as a small elementary program. Sulam now
provides K-12 education and support services for a total of 23 students.
The program is preparing to apply for accreditation as an independent school.
Very small class sizes allow for a completely personalized program.
Mission Statement
Sulam is committed to giving children with diverse learning needs a
comprehensive, state-of-the-art education that reflects research-based
practices in a Jewish day school environment. This rigorous and individualized
instructional program is provided in collaboration with a partner Jewish
day school, Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy. Through this collaboration
the opportunities for inclusion with peers is maximized. Using an innovative,
multidisciplinary team approach, Sulam provides a continuum of educational,
tutoring, and therapy services throughout the school day. Our students
develop the confidence and skills they need to become motivated, lifelong
learners.
