History
Sulam, Inc. was established in 1998 by a group of parents and community
leaders to provide for the exceptional needs of students within a Jewish
day school setting. Sulam began as a small elementary program. The Sulam School now provides K – 8 education and support services. Sulam also provides adjunct educational services to high school students at the Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy. The program is preparing to apply for accreditation as an independent school.
Very small class sizes allow for a completely personalized program.
Mission Statement
Sulam is committed to giving children with diverse learning needs a
comprehensive, state-of-the-art education that reflects research-based
practices in a Jewish day school environment. This rigorous and individualized
instructional program is provided in collaboration with a partner Jewish
day school, Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy. Through this collaboration
the opportunities for inclusion with peers is maximized. Using an innovative,
multidisciplinary team approach, Sulam provides a continuum of educational,
tutoring, and therapy services throughout the school day. Our students
develop the confidence and skills they need to become motivated, lifelong
learners.
