Helping Jewish Children Reach New Heights

How you can help

For 13 years Sulam has been the only resource in the Greater Washington Jewish community for children in need of specialized programming to accommodate their diverse learning needs. To continue to fulfill our communal commitment to provide a Jewish Day School experience to every child who seeks one, we need your help. Without Sulam, and your support, many of our children could not be attending a Jewish Day School alongside their siblings and neighbors.

While all day school educational programs are expensive for families, the cost of raising a child with learning difficulties and life skill challenges is many times that and financially crippling for most families. The average cost per child of a specialized program like Sulam exceeds $50,000 a year – well beyond the financial abilities of most families. Most of our families also have high medical and therapy costs to cover, and so the Sulam tuition is only a part of their costs. They need your help. It takes a community to assure that we fulfill our promise to all our Jewish children.

With the generous past support of the community, Sulam has come far. Together we have created what is the model for a truly inclusive ( yet highly intensive program within a Jewish day school. Together we are fulfilling our promise to all our children. However, together we still have much more work to do and many more promises to keep.

Please peruse the pull-down menu and learn about the many ways you can help.

“The more support Sulam receives from the community, the more it can offer its invaluable services”
