Sulam Upper School at MJBHA
Grades 9-12
The Sulam Upper School program is an individualized inclusion program for students of the MJBHA upper school. Students in our program discover their strengths and abilities in a positive learning environment that fosters independence and self-advocacy skills.
Students in our co-educational dual-curriculum program start school with Tefilat Shacharit (morning prayers). The day is divided into nine periods, each approximately 45 minutes long. In our unique high school program, each student has an individualized course schedule with a variety of built-in supports to help him/her achieve personal success.
Sulam students receive instruction in accordance with their learning needs. At times, a student may attend classes with his/her peers in the general education setting. At other times, the same student will do his/her studies in a self-contained classroom setting. All of our students attend lunch, assemblies, physical education, and elective classes as part of the MJBHA student body and receive a MJBHA high school diploma.
Our qualified staff helps students find the necessary balance between their academic and extra-curricular pursuits. Weekly team meetings monitor each student’s progress. Regular communications to parents is a high priority.
If you have a student who would benefit from the Sulam experience, please call our business office at 301-962-9400, x5523 to arrange a tour.
