Sulam Middle School at MJBHA

Grades 6-8

Middle school students develop an increased awareness of themselves as separate individuals while developing their relationships with peers and the world at large.

Sulam students participate fully in school life alongside their MJBHA peers, following a dual curriculum that includes both secular and Judaic subjects.

A formal educational program (FEP) is created for each student based on testing, learning style, and skills level. As a result, no two instructional programs are exactly alike. Our low student to teacher ratio, is the hallmark of our highly individualized approach. Students develop a sense of pride and confidence in their abilities.

Technological aids like Smart Boards and Envision software give Sulam middle school students an opportunity to focus on their strengths. Study strategies classes focus on development of organization skills. Our students also benefit from the myriad of extra-curricular activities offered by the MJBHA.

Besides academics, great emphasis is placed on the development of appropriate social skills, problem solving abilities, and self-confidence. Every middle school student meets weekly with the Sulam psychologist.

The Sulam Middle School faculty is a highly trained multi-disciplinary team that convenes weekly and communicates throughout every school day. Regularly scheduled electronic updates on student progress are sent to parents.

We invite you to learn more about the Sulam Middle School. To schedule an appointment, please call the Sulam business office at 301-962-9400 Ext. 5523.
