Curriculum and Graduation Requirements

The extensive and rigorous dual curriculum program emphasizes general and Judaic studies equally. The Maryland State Voluntary Curriculum Scope and Sequence is the basis of the general education program. The entire program is designed to challenge students in critical and analytical reasoning and may be significantly differentiated depending on individual student needs. While differentiation occurs throughout the program, the major curricular adaptations occur within the Judaic course requirements.

In the Lower and Middle School programs, Sulam, Inc. uses the Maryland State Voluntary Curriculum as the basis for a challenging academic program for language arts. This curriculum is supplemented and adapted as necessary to address student needs. In the area of mathematics, Sulam, Inc. uses the highly acclaimed and well researched program, Everyday Math. These curriculum resources provide for a rigorous yet individualized program for our students within the secular studies. For more information regarding secular curriculum as it relates to the Maryland State Voluntary Curriculum, please visit the Maryland State Department of Education’s website at http://marylandpublicschools.org/MSDE/currirulum.”
