Speech for Kids

Maureen Flanagan is a speech/language pathologist, licensed in the state of Maryland and certified by ASHA. She has over 30 years of experience working with children with a variety of speech and language needs. Ms. Flanagan provides individual speech/language therapy in the Sulam program during the school day in a large, well equipped therapy room. Individual therapy may also occur, when needed, within a Sulam classroom.

In addition to providing individual therapy, Ms. Flanagan is part of Sulam’s multidisciplinary team, a group that meets weekly to consider the needs of individual students. Every week, Ms. Flanagan also serves as part of the Sulam admissions committee, working together with other experts to consider the needs of prospective Sulam students. She is also available to provide informal consultations with staff members and does observations in mainstream and Sulam classes.

Maureen Flanagan is trained in numerous therapy techniques including the PROMPT technique, the Fast Forward Program, Brain Gym, Neurodevelopmental Treatment Philosophy and cranio-sacral therapy. Her services include evaluations, receptive/expressive language therapy, articulation therapy, social communication therapy and therapy for auditory processing disorders.
