Pediatric Therapy Associates (PTA) is a group of independent contractors providing therapeutic services to children in Montgomery County for 30 years. PTA physical therapist Karen Trackman work as part of the Sulam team to provide coordinated services to students who may have developmental concerns. Physical therapy services are geared towards improving gross motor development, balance or coordination, gait patterns or other areas that help students achieve their maximum potential to succeed in the school environment.

Services are provided during the school day in Sulam’s large, well equipped therapy room. Ms. Trackman utilizes a variety of assessment tools and treatment techniques that include activities teachers can carry over into the classroom. Physical therapy sessions are individually tailored to address the needs and interests of each child. A key focus is classroom integration. Therapists seek to incorporate treatment into activities that naturally interest the child, including the use of sports and playground equipments, climbing apparatus, trapeze, therapy balls and other gross motor equipment. The approach is collaborative. We work with parents, teachers, and caregivers to establish practical and motivating goals to help every child succeed.
